Cookie Policy for BoardgameMarketplace

Last Updated: September 16, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar browser storage BoardgameMarketplace uses, why, and how you can control them. The English version of this policy applies if a translation differs.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser, so it can remember things between pages and visits, such as that you are signed in. Websites can also store similar information in your browser's own storage (sessionStorage). This policy covers both.

2. Essential Cookies

These are needed for the site to work, so they do not need your consent: • _bgmp_session: keeps you signed in while you browse, protects forms against misuse, and remembers your language and, if you are not signed in, your approximate location. Deleted when you close your browser. • remember_user_token: keeps you signed in between visits, if you choose to stay signed in. Lasts 2 weeks. • bgmp_cookie_consent: remembers your choice in the cookie banner ("all" or "essential"), so we do not ask again. Lasts 1 year.

3. Browser Storage

• guest_geocoded (sessionStorage): notes that your approximate location has already been looked up, so it is not looked up again on every page. Deleted when you close the browser tab.

4. Advertising Cookies

Some pages show ads from Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to show ads, limit how often you see them, and measure them, and in some cases to personalize them. Google's ad script is only loaded, and these cookies only used, if you choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner. Until then, nothing from Google is loaded. See how Google uses cookies in advertising. You can also see and change how Google personalizes ads at myadcenter.google.com. We do not use analytics or tracking cookies of our own.

5. Managing Cookies

You can choose "Accept all" or "Essential only" in the cookie banner. To change your choice at any time, click "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page to open the banner again; choosing "Essential only" stops Google's ad script from loading from then on. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, a setting that asks sites not to sell or share your data, we treat it as "Essential only", whatever you chose before, and the banner says so instead of offering "Accept all". You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but if you block essential cookies you will not be able to sign in.
